Joe Prill –
I intended to connect my old computer to my new one and utilize it as a backup system. I bought an ethernet cable and connected them, but I couldn’t get a network to work. I assumed this was due to the fact that my ethernet port was required for my internet connection, and that the lack of one was the issue. I returned the ethernet wire and acquired a USB USB cable from Amazon because both PCs had a number of USB connections. I watched a U Tube lesson on how to connect two Windows 10 machines with a USB USB cable and was unable to establish a network connection, despite the fact that the tutorial was not overly hard and I followed things to the letter. I am not a computer geek, but I am also not a moron. Is it possible that, in this era of heightened internet security (pananoia), Windows 10 views the joining of PCs in a network as a liability risk? I’m returning the cable yet again, despite the fact that it appears to be in good condition.
